Marie Jenkins

Mrs. Marie Alene Jenkins, 76, of Cartersville died on Sunday, December 23, 2018 at Cartersville Medical Center. Born in Cartersville on January 29, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Ruben Russell Croy and the late Alice Mae Barrett Croy. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Edward Eugene Jenkins; her daughter, Patricia Jenkins; her son, Michael Jenkins; her brothers, Joe Croy, Robert Earl Croy, Thomas Earl Croy, Rufus Croy, and Gene Croy; and her sister, Emma Jane Blackmon.

Mrs. Jenkins was a homemaker who loved flowers, working outside and watching "In the Heat of the Night". She was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include her daughters, Melinda Blalock (Alvin, Sr.) of Cartersville, Betty Jane Jenkins of Cartersville, Melissa Owens (Philip) of Dalton, and Tina Youngken (Brian) of Cartersville; her sons, Mark Jenkins of Cartersville, Buddy Lee Jenkins (Sheena) of Cedartown, and Bryant Jenkins (Rosa) of Taylorsville; her sister, Annie Ruth Waits of Cartersville; her brother, David Croy of Cartersville; her grandson and caregiver, Alvin Blalock, Jr. of Cartersville; and numerous other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 28, 2018 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation services with Reverend Ralph Jenkins officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from
6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday evening at the funeral home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Brandon Jenkins, Brian Jenkins, Scott Blalock, Brett Youngken, Cody Youngken, and Jimmy Thurman. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Buddy Jenkins, Jr.
