Marie Wilson

July 12, 1940 — August 2, 2025

Marie Joyce Wilson (Rogers), 85, of Cartersville, Georgia, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 2, 2025. Born on July 12, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Clifford Rogers and the late Dorothy Amos Rogers. She is also preceded in death by her daughter, Tamra Smith; brother, Robert Rogers; and sister, Louise Howell.

Marie was a devoted Christian and member of Oakland Heights Baptist Church. She loved her family and enjoyed having family gatherings and cooking for them. Marie also spent her time being a caregiver and playing with her grandkids when they were younger and great grandchildren when they came along. She was a classy southern woman who always dressed to the hills. Marie had a contagious laugh and a heart of gold. To know Marie was to love her.

Survivors include her loving husband, Hugh Wilson; son, Chris Wilson (Jaime); grandchildren, Maegan Wilson (Brendan Glover) and Aubree Smith (Cody Martinez); great grandchildren, Tinsleigh Hart and Dakota Martinez; several nieces and nephews; brother, Raiden Rogers (Sherry); and son-in-law, David Smith.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 7, 2025, in the Parnick Jennings Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Sammy Burgess officiating. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home.

Serving as pallbearers are Gary Fowler, Tony Tidwell, Bill Hunt, Joe Nix, Ronnie Nix, and Jason Rogers.
