Marilyn Dower

Mrs. Marilyn Joann Gemmell Dower, 70, died Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at Cartersville Medical Center. Born in Phoenix, Arizona, November 1, 1940, she was the daughter of the late George Gemmell and the late Myrtle Champie Gemmell. Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her beloved pet, Punkin.

Mrs. Dower was of the Presbyterian Faith and was retired from Shamrock Foods.

Mrs. Dower is survived by her husband, Bill Dower of Cartersville; her son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Sonia Bradley of Cartersville; her daughter, Kim and Jon Sparks of Oregon; her step-daughters, Deborah Botha of Colorado, Teresa and Brad Sather of Wisconsin; her grandchildren, Noah Beatty, Halen Groce, Chelsea Bradley , Alicia Bradley and Jessi Bradley all of Cartersville, Lane Sparks, Robert Sparks, Lauren Sparks all of Oregon, Haley Sather of Wisconsin, Leah Defoe and Kelly Shroeder of Colorado.

Memorial services will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, August 14, 2011, in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Rev. Hoyt Jones officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the memorial service at 2:00 p.m. and after the service until 4:00 p.m.
