Marlene Poe

Marlene George Poe, 75, of Cartersville, Georgia, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday. June 11, 2025. Born on May 26, 1950, in Russell, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late E.B. George and the late Hazel Stanton Roberson. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Poe; grandson, Bradley Lovingood; twin sister, Verlene Mathews; and brother, Joe George.

Marlene was helpful to those in need. She was a very hard worker and took pride in what she did. She loved her family and dog. She instilled a strength in her family that will carry on. She enjoyed spending time with friends and preparing meals for her family.

Survivors include her daughter, Melissa Morris; granddaughter, Chrissy Culbertson (Zachary); grandson, Dustin Lovingood; and great granddaughter, Dillon Culbertson.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 16, 2025, at the Parnick Jennings Funeral Home chapel with Reverend Wesley Morris officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Monday prior to the service.
