Mr. Marshall Alonzo Ponder, 69, of Cartersville, passed away on Friday, May 1, 2020, at Assured Hospice.
Born on September 7, 1950 in Cartersville he was the son of the late Gene and Gertrude Ponder. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Adams Ponder, his brother Kenneth Ponder, sisters, Judy Branton, Carolyn Wolff, and Phyllis Cagle.
Survivors include his children, Brad & Wendy Ponder of Florida, Michelle & Rick Bingham of Alabama, Susan Ponder of Florida, Joseph & Mandy Ponder of Cartersville, grandchildren, Casey Stoker, Katie Stoker, Tyler and Trent Bingham, Ansley and Brody Ponder, 1 great-grandchild, Lainey Wolf and several nieces and nephews. His sister, June Boss of Cartersville and Annette Carroll of Taylorsville.
Instead of flowers, the family has requested donations to be made to the American Cancer Society at www.donate.cancer.org or the Hope Center at 100 Market Place Blvd Suite 102, Cartersville, Ga 30120.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. June 27, 2020 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. prior to service at the funeral home. Due to Covid-19 social distancing guidelines will be practiced.
