Mrs. Martha Jeanet Wood Coalson, age 86, of Chesterfield, MO, formerly of Rome, died Wednesday, May 14, 2008.
Mrs. Coalson was born in Dallas, GA on September 25, 1921, the daughter of the late Bertie Mae Wheeler and William Gibson Wood. She retired from Avon where she was a district manger for twenty years. Mrs. Coalson was a member of Garden Lakes Baptist Church for over fifty years. She enjoyed riding her own horse, water skiing, and teaching Sunday school. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Coalson is preceded in death by her husband, Eual Lewis Coalson; a sister, Francis Gresham; and a brother, Wheeler Wood.
Mrs. Coalson is survived by two children, Raeburn Van (Rip) Coalson of Indian Wells, CA and Martha Ann Feldman of Chesterfield, MO; three grandchildren, Curtis Coalson of Boulder, CO, Sam McVicar of St. Louis, MO, and Heather Ruoss of New Orleans, LA; and two great-grandchildren, Hayley and Morgan Ruoss of New Orleans.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 18, 2008, at 2:00 P.M. in the Heritage Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home with Cindy Wallace giving the eulogy. Entombment will follow in the family mausoleum at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Coalson will remain in the Heritage Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home where the family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 P.M. until the funeral hour.
The following gentlemen have been asked to serve as pallbearers and are requested to meet in the Heritage Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home on Sunday by 1:30 P.M.: Rip Coalson, Liviu Feldman, and Sam McVicar.
