Martha Mcever

March 9, 1926 — February 6, 2010

Martha Mathison McEver, 83, of Cartersville died Saturday, February 6, 2010 at the Cartersville Medical Center. Born March 9, 1926 in Floyd County, she was the daughter of the late George Howard Lowery and the late Rachel Coreen Dyar Lowery. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Troy Weldon McEver.



Martha was a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was employed as a cook for the Cartersville School System. Martha had been a member of the Eastern Star and was a former Red Cross volunteer. She had also been a hostess at Chick-Fil-A. She was also a faithful member of White United Methodist Church.



Survivors include her sons and daughter-in-laws, Ralph and Sherry Mathison of Cartersville, Jerry and Margaret Mathison of Cartersville, and Dewayne and Jan Mathison of Cartersville; daughters and son-in-laws, Wanda and Randy Allen of White and Lynn and Todd King and of Acworth; brother and sister-in-law, W.C. and Doris Lowery of Cartersville; sisters and brother-in-law, Edith Bryant of Jasper, Annie Teague of Cartersville, Dottie and Senate Wilson of Cartersville, and Joyce Hayward of Cartersville; fifteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.



Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at the White United Methodist Church with Rev. Robert Chancey officiating. Burial will follow in White City Cemetery.



Serving as pallbearers will be Kevin Mathison, Mark Mathison, Jeremy North, Hal Mathison, Wes Mathison, Todd Mathison, Kris Mathison, and Seth King. These gentlemen are asked to be at the funeral home by 1:15 p.m. on Tuesday.



The family will receive friends from 6 � 9 p.m. Monday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Rd., Cartersville, GA 30120.
