Mrs. Martha Elizabeth Vick Sullins, age 87, of 50 2nd Street, Shannon,GA died Thursday, June 3, 2004 at a local hospital following a sudden illness.Mrs. Sullins was born in Cherokee County, Alabama, September 5, 1916, daughter of the late John and Martha Richardson Clemmons, but had spent the greater part of her life in Floyd and Bartow Counties. She was of the Baptist faith and had been associated with the Tubize (Celanese) Company, Champion Garment Company and Sears Company in Atlanta. She was married to Clayton D. Vick who preceded her in death and was later married to Ralph B. Sullins who also preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Donald Dewitt Vick, James Everett Vick and by several brothers and sisters. Mrs. Sullins had a great love for quilting, gardening and canning foods.Survivors include; son and daughter in law Wayne and Patricia Vick of Armuchee,GA an adopted son, Ricky and Donna Sullins of Cartersville,GA a special daughter, Helen Chastain of Dallas,GA two sisters; Edna Dowdy of Summerville,GA a half sister Eunice, 15 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and a special friend, Callie Woodson of Rome, also survive.Funeral and interment services for Mrs. Martha Elizabeth Vick Sullins will be held at 11 AM Saturday, June 5, 2004 at the graveside of East View Cemetery with Dr. Joel Snider officiating.The family will receive friends at the residence of the son, Wayne Vick, 1248 Haywood Valley Road, Armuchee.Please join Mrs. Sullins family in honoring her life by visiting www.jenningsfuneralhome.com to share memories and post tributes.The Heritage Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements for the services of Mrs. Martha Elizabeth Vick Sullins.
