Marvin Wayne Platt, beloved husband, brother, and friend to many, departed this world for his heavenly home on Friday, March 27th, 2026, at the age of 77. Marvin was born on June 11th, 1948, in De Queen, Arkansas, and resided in White, GA, where he was cherished by all who knew him.
Throughout his life, Marvin exemplified a spirit of kindness, service, and devotion to his faith as a committed member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. His compassionate nature shined brightly during his years in the community nursing home, where he selflessly volunteered his time to visit fellow residents who were unable to walk. With a smile and a warm heart, Marvin would go from room to room, presenting the daily menu and assisting in selecting their meal choices. His presence was a blessing to all who knew him.
Marvin is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Karen Hinton, who was his unwavering source of strength and support. Together, they exemplified true partnership and devotion. He also leaves behind his siblings, Freda, Veda, Roberta, and Eugene Platt, who all shared deeply in the bonds of family that Marvin held dear.
Marvin was preceded in death by his father, Forrest Platt, and his mother, Pansy Pearl Platt, whose memories he held close to his heart throughout his life.
Marvin Wayne Platt's gentle nature and generosity will forever leave an indelible mark on the hearts of those who had the distinct privilege of knowing him. The grace with which he lived his life and served others will continue to inspire those he leaves behind.
