Mary Ellen Arrowood, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at the age of 81. Born on July 13, 1944, Mary was a cherished resident of Cartersville, GA, where she spent her life surrounded by the love of her family and friends.
Mary is survived by her devoted husband of 64 years, W.C. (Bud) Arrowood, with whom she shared a beautiful journey filled with love and dedication. Her legacy lives on through her daughters, Brenda Jordan (Eddie Race) and Carol Saul (Todd), who were the light of her life. She was a proud grandmother to Bo Jordan (Katie), Dusty Jordan, and Katie Zierler (Justin), and her heart was further filled with joy by her great-grandchildren, Cash Jordan, Caroline Jordan, and Sadie Jordan.
She is also survived by her loving brother Harvey Heath (Mary) and sister Martha Greer, who shared in her life's many joys and sorrows. Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Franklin Heath and Retha Huskins Branton, her grandson Justin Jordan, her brothers Luther, Jesse, Raymond, and Lloyd Heath, and her sister Esther Reed.
Mary's life was a testament to her love for her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were her pride and joy.
A funeral service to honor and celebrate Mary's life will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, May 24, 2026, in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home. Friends and family are invited to gather for visitation from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm prior to the service, providing an opportunity to share memories and offer condolences.
