Mary Ann Corrado, age 64, of Cartersville, Georgia, sadly passed away on Sunday, August 20, 2023 at Piedmont Cartersville Medical Center.
Mary Ann was born on April 8, 1959 in Bayonne, New Jersey to the late Michael & Mary Zarinczny. She is also preceded in death by her sister Vera Kozak and her brother Peter Zarinczny.
She is survived by her beautiful daughter Jamie Corrado, her previous husband and father of her daughter (and very good friend), Thomas Corrado, and her grand-dogs Vinny and Penelope.
The Zariczny family traveled from Ukraine to Ellis Island in 1949, and found their forever home in Bayonne, NJ. Of 3 siblings, Mary Ann was the youngest and only member of the family born on American soil. While living in Bayonne, she met Thomas Corrado at a young age, and were married after high school. In 1990, Mary Ann gave birth to her daughter, Jamie. While raising Jamie with Tom, Mary Ann pursued her career in nursing and earned her LPN. In 1995 the small family moved to Cartersville, GA where Mary Ann worked as an LPN until 2021. Outside of work, Mary Ann was very involved and active in Jamie's extracurricular activities, adding a positive impact in classrooms and sports teams throughout the community.
Mary Ann lived a quiet life at home with her two beloved dogs. She kept a small group of close friends that meant the world to her. She treated Tom's friends, Jamie's friends, and her own friends as if they were her family. Mary Ann was the type of person everyone could go to for love, care, support, advice, or company. She was careful and genuine, always putting special touches on anything she could to make someone feel cared about and loved. Friend or stranger, Mary Ann helped all to the best of her ability, often putting others before herself. Though divorced, Tom and Mary Ann remained lifelong friends and spent time together almost every day. Mary Ann enjoyed listening to oldies, singing in the kitchen while trying new recipes, and spending time outside with Vinny and Penelope. She was a treasure to all of those who had the pleasure of having her in their lives. She will be sorely missed and forever loved.
