Mrs. Mary Grace Gresham, age 87, a former resident of Nan Lee Drive, Rome, GA, died Tuesday, October 24, 2006, in a local healthcare facility.Mrs. Gresham was born in Etowah, TN, the daughter of the late Andrew and Mamie Watts Jarvis. She had been a resident of Rome and Floyd County for the greater part of her life. Mrs. Gresham had been a member of the Second Avenue United Methodist Church since 1939. Prior to retirement in 1978, she was associated with the Floyd County School System, serving lunches to countless children in several different schools. Mrs. Gresham was an avid reader, loved to travel and enjoyed growing and working with flowers. She was married on October 30, 1939, to Mr. Henry W. Gresham, Sr., who preceded her in death on April 2, 2002. Also preceding her in death was a daughter, Sandra Joyce Frost in 1982, a granddaughter, Beth Frost in 2005, two brothers, Joe and Gene, and three sisters, Ruth, Anna Lou and Martha.Mrs. Gresham is survived by a son, Henry W. (Buddy) Gresham, Jr., of Delano, TN; grandchildren, Bill (Samantha) Frost of Douglasville, GA, Dr. Chip Gresham and Andrew Gresham, both of Morristown, TN, great-grandson, Stephen Frost; sister, Joyce Vickery of Chattanooga, TN; special niece, Betty Ann Bell of Atlanta, GA; son-in-law, Leon Frost of Douglasville; daughter-in-law, Diana Gresham of Morristown; sisters-in-law, Eloise Johnson and Helen Chandler, both of Rome.Funeral services for Mrs. Gresham will be held on Saturday morning at 11 a.m. in the Oaknoll Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Gamber officiating. Her son, Buddy Gresham, will give the eulogy. Interment will follow in the Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.Mrs. Gresham will lay in-state in the Oaknoll Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home where the family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 until 9 p.m. Pallbearers are asked to meet at the funeral home on Saturday by 10:30 a.m. and include Harry Loveless, Guy Loveless, Jimmy Loveless, Henry Loveless, David Loveless, Paul Loveless, Mike Loveless, Phillip Loveless, Louis Rouse, Lee Vickery, David Chandler and Dick Johnson.
