Mary Hames

Mrs. Mary Jane Hames, 70, of Taylorsville passed away on Tuesday, January 21, 2019 at Floyd Medical Center in Rome.

Born on March 1, 1949 in Cartersville she was the daughter of the late Robert Chapman Sr. and the late Elizabeth Thompson. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Robert Chapman, Jr.

Mrs. Mary Jane Hames, 70, of Taylorsville passed away on Tuesday, January 21, 2019 at Floyd Medical Center in Rome.

Born on March 1, 1949 in Cartersville she was the daughter of the late Robert Chapman Sr. and the late Elizabeth Thompson. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Robert Chapman, Jr.

Mary was employed as a production assistant with Optimum Technologies until her retirement. She was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church. Mary was very family oriented and made everyone feel welcome. Her daughter-in-law, Donna felt more like a daughter.

Survivors include her husband, Grady Hames, Jr.; her sons and daughters-in-law, Greg and Donna Hames, and Shane and Brandi Hames; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; her brother and sister-in-law, David and Wanna Chapman; her sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Donald Cox; her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Bernice and Roger Atkins; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 24, 2020 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Reverend Earl Vaughn and Reverend Bill Avery officiating. Burial will follow at Cornerstone Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. on Friday prior to the service.

Serving as pallbearers will be Ryan Hames, Nick Bartley, Drew Cox, Dakota Bennett, Avery Bennett, and Matthew Cox.
