Mrs. Mary Frances Head, age 67, of 96 Prater Road, Kingston, GA, died Tuesday, August 17, 2004, in a local hospital following an extended illness.Mrs. Head was born in Bartow County, GA, July 28, 1937, daughter of the late Ellis and Myrtle Ford but had resided in Rome and Floyd County for most of her life. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Mrs. Head was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, especially flowers, family and her beloved cats. She was a kind lady who was family oriented and is remembered as being very supportive and always there to take care of things. Mrs. Head was preceded in death by a son, Jackie Whitener.Mrs. Head is survived by her husband, Ronnie Head, to whom she was married on November 1, 1966; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Charles and Mary Whitener of Summerville, GA, and Bill Whitener of Rome; a granddaughter, Kristy Whitener of Summerville; two brothers, Charles Ford of Kingston, and James Ford of Jacksonville, FL; one sister, Charlene Bray of Kingston.Graveside and interment services for Mrs. Head will be held on Friday morning at 11 a.m. in the East View Cemetery with Dr. Billy Goolesby officiating. Those desiring to attend the service should meet at the cemetery on Friday by 10:45 a.m. Mrs. Head will lie in-state at the Heritage Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home where the family will receive friends this (Thursday) evening from 6 until 8 p.m. At other hours they will be at their respective homes.Please join Mrs. Head's family in honoring her life by visiting www.jenningsfuneralhome.com to post tributes and share memories.The Heritage Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home had charge of the arrangements for the services of Mrs. Mary Frances Head.
