Mary Hilburn

Mrs. Mary E. Hilburn, 82, of Emerson, died Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at her residence.

Born in Unadilla, Georgia on August 16, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Ludy Milton Borum and Celie Pate Hudson Borum. Mrs. Hilburn was a member of Bethany Baptist Church and was retired from Clorox. She was also a member of The Women of The Moose and past Star Recorder of Chapter #2372 and All Heart. She enjoyed cooking, going to the mountains, listening to Karaoke and spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by the father of her children, Clyde E. Hilburn; her siblings, Mildred Kipina, Hildred Pender, Jean Smith, Bud Borum, and son,Thomas Hilburn; her son-in-laws, Clinton James and Wayne Morris.

She is survived by her husband, J. W. Vaughn of Emerson; her children, Joyce Morris of Cartersville, Gloria James of Cartersville, Jean Reynolds and husband, Wayne of Taylorsville, Penny Hilliard and husband, Donald of Emerson, Bill Hilburn and wife, Elaine of Cartersville, John Hilburn of Taylorsville, Jimbo Hilburn and wife, Cherry of
Cartersville, Robert "Boo Boo" Hilburn of Emerson and Paul "Shorty" Hilburn and wife, Deborah of Chatsworth; eighteen grandchildren; forty one great-grandchildren; her sister, Quinnie Williamson of Washington, Georgia.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 20, 2015 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with The Reverend Josh James officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.

Serving as pallbearers will be David Morris, William Hilburn, Chris Reynolds, Jeffery Reynolds, Dusty Hilburn, Jesse Hilburn, Billy Hilburn and Foster Bobo. Kenneth Morris, Daren BoBo Brooks, T. J. Hilburn, Walter Hilliard and all of her great-grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers.
