Mary Millsap

Mary Ruth Millsap, age 77, of Cartersville, Georgia, passed away at Brookside Cartersville Senior Living on January 12, 2023.

Born on July 19, 1945 in Cleveland, Tennessee, Mary was the daughter of the late Clarence & Marie Sutton Cochran. She is also preceded in death by her husband of 28 years, Donald Millsap and her brother; Jimmy Cochran.

Mary moved from Cleveland, Tennessee to Dalton, Georgia where she resided until her freshman year of high school. It was at this time she moved to Cartersville and went on to become a 1963 graduate of Cass High School. After starting her family and working a few other jobs, she found a home at Cass Middle School as a cafeteria lady where she served for over 20 years. She was a devout Baptist and regularly attended Oak Grove Baptist Church. She loved to sew and enjoyed quilt making. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, and her family will miss her dearly.

Mary is survived by her daughter Donna Jenkins (Randy); her daughter Kim Millsap (Matt Williams); her grandchildren Kyla Jenkins, Eli Williams, and Ella Williams; and several other extended family members.

A funeral service will be held for Mary at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home on Sunday, January 15, 2023 at 2:00 p.m.with Sammy Burgess officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 15, 2023 at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home for a visitation.
