Mary Rochester

Mrs. Mary Ruth McEntyre Rochester, age 76, of 2207 Seaman Circle, Chamblee, GA, died March 6, 2006, at Northside Hospital in Atlanta, GA.Mrs. Rochester was born in Floyd County on November 29, 1929, the daughter of the late Albert McEntyre and Blanche Brown McEntyre. Although she was of the Baptist faith she attended Chamblee First United Methodist Church for over 20 years. Mrs. Rochester retired from Rich's Clothing Store and was also a homemaker for many years. She had her pilot's license and enjoyed flying in her younger years. Mrs. Rochester's loved the outdoors and collected plants, rocks and dirt from various places that she visited. She was known as a sweet and loving person. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Rochester is preceded in death by her husband, Roy Kenneth (Ken) Rochester; and a brother and sister-in-law, Lloyd and Elizabeth McEntyre.Mrs. Rochester is survived by four sons, Michael Rochester of Moreland, GA, Ricky Rochester and his wife, Nancy of The Rock, GA; Rodney Rochester of Charlotte, NC, and Samuel Rochester of Chamblee, GA; two daughters, Debbie Rochester of Chamblee, GA, and Cindy Patterson and her husband, Mark of Stockbridge, GA; fourteen grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Sam and Gayle McEntyre of Dunwoody, GA and T.W. and June McEntyre of Plainville, GA; and three sisters and brothers-in-law, Kay and Mike Braden of Rome, GA, Norma and Wallace Worthington of Aragon, GA, and June and Rev. Max Wright of Rome, GA. Many nieces and nephews also survive.Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 8, 2006, at 3:00 P.M. in the Heritage Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home with Rev. Lee Fullerton and Rev. George Chastain officiating. Interment will follow in the Oostanaula United Methodist Church Cemetery.Mrs. Rochester will remain in the Heritage Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home where the family will receive friends on Wednesday from 1:30 P.M. until the funeral hour. The following gentlemen have been asked to serve as active pallbearers and are requested to meet at the Heritage Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home by 2:30 P.M.: Jason Rochester, Travis Rochester, Kenneth Rochester, Steven Rochester, Terry Rochester, Chad Braden, Bradley McEntyre, and Greg Wilbanks. The Honorary pallbearers will include Cameron Rochester, Hunter Braden, Trent McEntyre, Christopher Kellett, Timothy Rochester, Mike Wilbanks, Randall Burch, Gary Burch, Nathan Rochester, and Steven Wilbanks.
