Mary Sandlin

Mrs. Mary Wyatt Sandlin age 82, formerly of Huntsville, AL died Friday, July 2, 2010 in a Rome senior living center.



Mrs. Sandlin was born in Hampton, VA on September 12, 1927, the daughter of the late George Edward Wyatt and Effie Elizabeth Judkins Wyatt. She retired as a manager from the Athens, AL State Employee Service. Mrs. Sandlin was a longtime resident of Huntsville, AL and was a master gardener. She was active in the Huntsville Little Theatre in her earlier years. In addition to her parents Mrs. Sandlin was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Wesley Sandlin, Jr., and a sister, Barbara Wilson.



Survivors include a son, Charles Wesley Sandlin III of Woodville, AL; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sherry and Doug McDowell of Woodstock, GA and Michele and James Fountain of Plainville, GA; four grandchildren, Michelle McDowell Dembski and her husband, Mike of Marietta, GA, Charles Dustin McDowell of Huntsville, AL, Christopher Paul McDowell of New Orleans, LA, and Kellie Justic and her husband, Tom of Chicago; seven great-grandchildren, Cameron Hayes Dembski, Emery Kate Dembski, Addison Mae Dembski, Madison Justic, Mitchell Berger, Mason Justic, and Max Justic; three brothers, George E. Wyatt, Jr., Herbert Wyatt, and Robert Wyatt; and four sisters, Georgia Rodgers, Gloria Jones, Anne Walloch, Shirley McGahan. Several nieces and nephews also survive.



A Celebration of Life will be at a later date in Hampton, VA.
