Mary Sexton

August 4, 1939 — October 2, 2010

Mrs. Mary Alice Sexton, age 71, of Rome, GA. died Saturday, October 2, 2010 at her residence.



Mrs. Sexton was born in Cherokee Co. AL, on August 4, 1939, the daughter of the late Choice Trammell and Lois Beatrice Carroll Trammell. In her early years of employment she worked for Advance Glove Mill, Rome Manufacturing, Champion Garments, KTH Industries and the Piggly Wiggly. Mrs. Sexton also was a great cook and worked for many years at Coosa and Model Schools, the Little Rock Caf� and worked for the Homestead Restaurant for twelve years. She was an excellent mother and grandmother who was very supportive of her children and grandchild. Mrs. Sexton�s greatest love was for her Lord and family. In addition to her parents Mrs. Sexton was preceded in death by her husband of fifty years to whom she loved dearly, Paul J. Sexton, granddaughter, Stephanie Gail Camp and brother Lloyd Trammell.



Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Leslie and Belinda Sexton of Rome, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Cam and Mark Coffman of Rome, GA; granddaughter, Kelsey Sierra Ely of Rome, GA; brother, Hoyt Trammell of Summerville, GA; sister, Evelyn Bunch Laye of Rome, GA. A number of nieces and nephews with a very special thank you to her niece Sharon Baker of Rome, GA.



A Celebration of Life service will be held Monday, October 4, 2010, at 2:00 P.M. at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Branton officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. On Monday Mrs. Sexton will be carried to the church to lie in state from 1:00 P.M. until the funeral hour.



The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. in the Heritage Chapel of the McGuire, Jennings & Miller Funeral Home.



Pallbearers are asked to meet Monday at 1:30 P.M. at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and include: Dean Lewis, Ricky Minshew, Jackie Hampton, Glen Flemister, Eddie Rose and Jamie Rose. Honorary pallbearers are Mark Coffman, Richie Ferguson, Randy Womack and Randy Freeman.
