Mary Shepherd

September 25, 1944 — February 17, 2024

Mary Frances Shepherd, 79 of White, Georgia, passed away on February 17, 2024 at Cartersville Medical Center. She was born on September 25, 1944 in Ranger, Georgia, to the late John Long and the late Grace Gibbs Long. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Charles T. Shepherd; her brother, JW Long and her sister, Patsy Woody.

She loved her grandchildren and her great grandbabies. She was a dedicated housewife, an outstanding mother and a wonderful grandmother and great grandmother for more than 50 years. She always looked forward to celebrating Christmas with her great grandbabies. She was a die-hard fan of the Atlanta Falcons and loved to cut a rug on occasion.

Survivors include her son, Charlie (Stanley) Shepherd (Allison Taylor); grandchildren, Megan Shepherd, Destiny (Taylor) Griffin, Storm Shepherd, and Dakota (Bree) Luallen; and her great grandbabies Jackson Massey, Magnolia Griffin, and Waylon Luallen.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, February 23, 2024 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home with Reverend Kenny Jacobs officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm on Friday prior to the service.
