Mrs. Mary Lee Price Smith, age 84, of El Paso, TX, formerly of Rome, GA, died Friday, January 25, 2008.
Mrs. Smith was born in Cleburne County, AL, on January 18, 1924, the daughter of the late Ranson A. Thompson and Nettie Winters Thompson. She was a member of Wilkerson Road Baptist Church and retired from JcPenney. Mrs. Smith enjoyed crochet, sewing, and making crafts. In addition to her parents Mrs. Smith is preceded in death by her first husband, Walton Brock Price; second husband, Clarence Smith; a brother, Radis Thompson; and two sisters, Velma Bell and Luna Belle Wright.
Mrs. Smith is survived by a daughter, Jackie Leonard, two grandchildren, Tammie Brooks and her husband, Michael, and David Leonard all of El Paso, TX; four great-grandchildren; three sisters, Bernice Steadman of Rome, GA, Betty Jo Webber of Tallapoosa, GA, and Ann Coggins and her husband, Bill of Tallapoosa, GA. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 30, 2008, at 11:00 A.M. in the Heritage Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home with Rev. Milford Williams officiating. Interment will follow in the Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Smith will remain in the Heritage Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home where the family will receive friends Tuesday from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. and at other hours can be contacted at 5857 Rockmart Road SE, Silver Creek, GA.
