Mary Pauline Whitener, 76, of Cartersville passed away Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at the Cartersville Medical Center. Born in Cedartown on July 15, 1933, she was the daughter of the late John Roberts and the late Lydia P. Pardue Roberts.
Before her retirement Mrs. Whitener was employed by Shaw Industries as a mender. She enjoyed the simple things in life like dancing with her husband, sitting on her porch, drinking coffee, and just being with her family.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Jesse Sanford, Jr. of Cartersville; her sons and daughter-in-law, James Whitener and Kenneth and Nancy Whitener, all of Cartersville; her sister, Grace Pierce of Blue Ridge; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 9, 2010 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Rev. Donnie Summey and Rev. Jesse Sanford officiating. Burial will follow in the Cassville Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Nick Smith, Billy Smith, Tim Whitener, Justin Whitener, Shea Dutto, and Jeremy Baxter. Shawn Sanford will serve as an honorary pallbearer. These gentlemen are requested to meet at the funeral home at 1:15 p.m. on Friday.
The family will receive friends from 6 � 9 Thursday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Rd., Cartersville, GA 30120.
