Mattie Jenkins

Mattie Louise Jenkins, age 81, of Cartersville died Sunday, May 24, 2009 at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital in Cobb County. Born in Bartow County, April 1, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Cheasly Myrick and the late Clemintine Westbrooks Myrick. She was a member of the Cartersville Church of Christ and was a homemaker. Louise loved to cook and spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Louise is survived by her husband of 57 years, John T. Jenkins of Cartersville; her daughter, Katie Scarlett Jenkins of Cartersville; her sons, Ricky L. Jenkins of Canton; Lloyd R. Jenkins, Phillip Jenkins and Gerald Jenkins all of Cartersville; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, June 1, 2009 at the Cartersville Church of Christ with Mr. Bobby Gayton officiating. Burial will follow in the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton.

The family will receive friends from 6 -9 p.m., Sunday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Road, Cartersville.
