Maudie Seig

August 10, 1922 — September 10, 2008

Mrs. Maudie Shelton Seig, 86, of Acworth passed away Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at the Cartersville Medical Center. Born August 10, 1922 in Dallas, she was the daughter of the late Robert Benjamin McCollum and the late Laura McMicken McCollum. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Seig was also preceded in death by her husband, Howard Shelton; her husband, Dewey Seig; her daughter, Joyce Farist; her granddaughters, Barbara Jo Mote, Judy Whitton, and Jennifer Goss; her grandson, Terry Farist; and her brothers, Clinton McCollum and Wylie McCollum.



Survivors include her children, Joan Prewett of Acworth, Sonny Shelton of Cassville, Gwen Goss of Emerson, and Kathy Vaughn of Fairmount; her sisters, Mary Brookshire of Acworth and Jean Beavers of Phenix City, Alabama; 17 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.



Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 13, 2008 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services. Burial will follow in Liberty Hill Cemetery in Acworth.



Serving as pallbearers will be Joey Prewett, Victor Prewett, Brannon Prewett, Jeremy Shelton, Emmanuel Bagley, Tommy Farist, Blake Whitton, and Austin Waits. Gentlemen serving as pallbearers are requested to meet at the funeral home by 1:15 p.m. Saturday.



The family will receive friends from 6 � 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday and until service time Saturday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Rd., Cartersville, GA 30120.
