Maxine Dupree
April 20, 1934 — September 6, 2013
Born in Kingston on April 20, 1934 she was the daughter of the late Odell Edward Amos and the late Mattie Bell Hubbard. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Howard Dupree; and her brother, Robert Amos. Mrs. Dupree was a homemaker and a member of Macedonia Baptist Church who loved flowers and gardening. She was a woman of strong Christian faith and a dedicated, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Hazel and Teddy Temples of Kingston; her son and daughter-in-law, Jeffery and Mandy Dupree of Kingston; her granddaughter, Shelley Young of Kingston; her grandsons and their spouses, John and Dani Dupree of Kingston and Andrew and Ansley Dupree of Kingston; her great-grandson, Paiden Young of Kinston; her great-granddaughter, Molly Dupree of Kingston; and her brother, Edward Amos of Rome.
Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, September 8, 2013 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home with the Reverend C.E. Wilkey officiating. Interment will follow in Macedonia Baptist Church cemetery in Kingston. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Andrew Dupree, Jeff Hughes, James Amos, Cody Amos, Justin Amos and Phillip Amos.
