Mcray Evans

January 16, 1941 — March 8, 2012

Rev. McRay Evans, 71, of White went to be with the Lord Thursday, March 08, 2012 at Cartersville Medical Center. A native of Bartow County, Mac was born January 16, 1941 to the late Raymond Evans and the late Ruby Walraven Evans. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Linda Jane Brown Evans; one brother, Charles Evans; and one sister, Annie Jo Wilson.



Rev. Evans retired from Chemical Products after many years of service where he was a foreman. He pastored Millers Chapel Church for twenty five years and Dogwood Hills Church for ten years. Rev. Evans was a good man, a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.



Survivors include his children, Greg and Sharon Evans and Gary and Shelley Evans; his grandchildren, Tosha and Camron Huskins, Scott Evans, Ryan Evans, Tyler Evans, Bryan Evans, Lacey Evans; his great-grandchildren, Nevan, Brant and Hayden Huskins; his siblings, Roy Evans and Shirley Griffin, Margie and Gene Givens, James and Chris Evans, Miller and Linda Gayle Evans, Millie and Al Palone and Ernest Evans and Cynthia Smith; special niece, Shellie Millsaps and his caregiver, Susie Bennett.



Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 10, 2012 at the Bread of Life Christian Center with Rev. Scott Evans and Rev. James Bennett officiating. Burial will follow in White Methodist Cemetery. Rev. Evans will be carried to the church on Saturday to lie-in-state for one hour prior to the service.



Pallbearers are asked to meet at the church on Saturday at 12:30 and will include: Greg, Gary, Scott, Ryan, Tyler and Bryan Evans. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Lacey Evans and Nevan Huskins.



The family will receive friends from 5 � 8 p.m., Friday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Road, Cartersville.



The family would like to express a special thanks to Rev. Max Maybern for the use of the Bread of Life Christian Center.
