Melba Rakestraw

Melba S. Rakestraw, 52, of Taylorsville died Friday, October 16, 2009 at her residence after a thirteen year battle with A.L.S. Born June 26, 1957 in Houston, Texas, she was the daughter of Wanda Follis Carroll of Taylorsville. Melba attended Euharlee Baptist Church and enjoyed cooking and reading.



Survivors include her mother and step-father, Wanda and Sammy Carroll; her daughters, Emily Rakestraw and Sarah Rakestraw; her sister, Laura Dynes; and two nephews, Colton Dynes and Diego Gonzalez.



Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at Euharlee Baptist Church with Rev. Keith Dempsey officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.



The family will receive friends from 6 � 9 p.m., Monday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Rd., Cartersville, GA 30120.
