Melessa "Lessa" Keith

Melessa "Lessa" Gail Keith, age 60, of Cartersville, Georgia, sadly passed away at Piedmont Cartersville Medical Center surrounded by her loving family on Friday, March 3, 2023.

Lessa was born in Cartersville, Georgia on January 10, 1963 to the late Franklin and Wynema Powell. She is also preceded in death by her brother, Gregory Powell, and the father of her children and love of her life, Junior Keith.

Melessa was a devoted mother and grandmother and loved her family with her whole heart. Her kids were her entire life and any interest they had, she shared, simply because she wanted to be there to see them smile. She loved to travel with her entire family and would plan camping trips or trips to the beach every summer. She really valued family time and made sure her children were cooked three meals a day, all of which were eaten at the table. She was a wonderful cook, and her children will miss her sweet tea, salmon patties, and the time spent with her around the dinner table. Lessa also really enjoyed taking her grandchildren on little adventures or occupying their time together with fun activities. Whether it was painting their nails or feeding ducks at the park, there was never a dull moment. Her grandchildren will never forget their time with her. Nobody loved like Lessa did, and she will be sorely missed.

Lessa is survived by her loving children, BJ Keith (Mack Tallent), Nicholas Keith (Heather), and Timothy Keith (Taylor); her grandchildren, Alexandria Stodghill, Brice Keith, Kadin Keith, Khloe McArthur, Emmalyn Keith, Peyton Keith, Collins Keith, and Morgan Keith; her brothers, Allen Powell, Gary Powell, and Stevie Powell; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at 12:00 pm in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home with Gregory Powell and Bart Black officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm for visitation. Serving as pallbearers are Keith Powell, Jessie Hartsfield, AJ Powell, Gregory Powell, Chris Powell, Timothy Hopper, Brice Keith, and Kadin Keith.
