Melissa Watkins

Mrs. Melissa Watkins, 49, of Kingston, passed away, Monday, January 27, 2014 at Cartersville Medical Center. Born in Dalton, Georgia, September 5, 1964, she was the daughter of Marlene Norton Abernathy and the late John Abernathy.
Melissa was a kind, loving, good hearted country girl. She was a cashier at T & M Grocery. Melissa is preceded in death by her father, John Abernathy and her husband, William Gerald Watkins.
Survivors include her children, James "PJ" Abernathy, Melanie Sparks (Larry, Jr.), Cody Watkins (Candace Huffman), Lori Watkins Pizano (Nicky); her grandchildren, Kelsie Sparks, Amanda Pizano and Dru Pizano; two great-grandchildren on the way; her siblings, Wade Abernathy (Brandy), Terry Abernathy, Don Abernathy and Jane Strickland; along with her mother, Marlene Abernathy.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, January 30, 2014 at Brandon's Chapel Baptist Church with the Reverend Scott Shepherd officiating.
