Melony Allen Godfrey Perkins, 52, of Taylorsville passed away Sunday, October 17, 2010 at the Northside Hospital in Canton. Born July 13, 1958 in Athens, she was the daughter of Kathryn Frost Allen and the late Billy Ray Allen. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, James Ricky Godfrey, and her brother, Billy Frost Allen.



Anyone who knew Melony knew her life revolved around flowers. She had spent most of her life as a florist with her family�s business, Allen�s Cartersville Florist, but she also enjoyed working with the flowers in her yard. Melony also enjoyed spoiling her granddaughter, Elice.



Melony loved music and was formerly the choir director at Floyd Creek Baptist Church where she was also a member. Most recently she attended First Congregational Methodist Church with her husband.



Survivors include her husband, Kip Perkins; her son, Ritchie Godfrey; her daughter and son-in-law, Shannon and Jason Liber; her granddaughter, Elice Kay Liber; her mother, Kathy Allen; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Doris and Morell Perkins; her sister and brother-in-law, Melissa and Joel King; her niece Leslea King; her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Linda and Bill Ledford, Carolyn and Jimmy Churchill, Gail Bartlett, Frank and Cecilia Perkins, David and Debra Turner, and Jeanette Perkins Graves; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.



Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at Floyd Creek Baptist Church with Dr. Joe Ford, Rev. Roger Fisher, and Rev. Nathan Sanders officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.



The family will receive friends from 5 � 9 p.m. Tuesday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Rd., Cartersville, GA 30120.
