Dennis "Denny" Abney

Michael Dennis Abney, 80 of Cartersville, Georgia passed away on March 9, 2026.

“Denny” as most knew him was married to Rozanne Abney for 44 years. They had been lifelong sweethearts since the 3rd grade. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother, and friend. He is survived by his 3 children Pat (Kristi), Noelle (Andy), and Bo (Sharon), 10 grandchildren, and sister Carol Corbin. Preceding him in death is his wife Rozanne and daughter Lucy Abney.

When Denny wasn’t watching one of his kids or grandkids playing ball or a recital, he was out playing golf. Professionally, he worked for 20 years in the banking business in LaFayette and 20 years for Reader’s Digest in Atlanta. After retirement he ran the Northwest Georgia Senior golf association for many years and enjoyed spending time with the guys. One word that could describe Denny was generous. Whether you needed it or not, he was always willing to give. The greatest gift he received was his faith in Jesus. We are at peace knowing he is now in his Savior’s arms.

A memorial service will be held on March 13, 2026 @ 1pm at Faith Methodist Church in Cartersville, Georgia followed by a graveside service at Sunset Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, please honor dad with a donation to the Shine Ministry at Johnson Ferry Baptist Church in Marietta.
