Michael Ray Melendrez, 35, of Taylorsville died Sunday, February 28, 2010 at his residence after a lengthy battle with illness. Born February 12, 1975 in Upland, California, he was the son of the late Michael Allen Melendrez.
Michael enjoyed painting cars and had been employed with Wynn Pontiac, Candy Apple Custom Collision, and Auto Impact. He was also a talented tattoo artist. Michael was tender-hearted and was a loving, caring person.
Survivors include his wife, Michelle Melendrez; his children, Garrett Melendrez and Ashley Melendrez, both of Taylorsville, and Gevin Prince of Douglasville; his mother and step-father, Sally and Scott Thompson of Taylorsville; his sister, Alisha Petty; his brothers-in-law, Tony Hite and Gary Crowe; his sister-in-law, Tanya Tims; his mother-in-law, Barbara Haynes; his grandparents, Lucy and Garrett Roylo of Paradise, California; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Billy and Brenda Jordan of Cartersville; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 3, 2010 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Dr. Joe Edwards officiating.
The family will receive friends during the hour prior to the memorial service and immediately following the memorial service.
