Mr. Michael Raymond Moriarty, 60, of Euharlee, died Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at his residence.

Born in Morristown, New Jersey on September 5, 1952, he was the son of the late Thomas E. Moriarty and the late Jean Purcell Moriarty. Mr. Moriarty was a 26 year retired veteran of the United States Army. He completed his career with Shaw Industries.

Survivors include his wife, Connie Moriarty; his daughters and sons-in-law, Michelle and Ron Smith along with their children, Brandon, Kelly and Jordan all of Alpharetta, Mindy and Rome Clegg and their daughter, Fiona all of Conyers; his step-sons, Michael and Candace Putman and their children, Trinity and Trent of Emerson, Matt West and his son, Brayden of Euharlee; his sisters, Linda Moriarty of Springfield, MA, Christine Moriarty of Gillette, NJ, Karen Moriarty of Silver Creek, Ga. and Sheila Tyree of Silver Creek, GA; his brother, Thomas Moriarty of Rock A Way, NJ; along with 11 nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 26, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Rome with The Reverend Patrick Kingery officiating. Interment will held at a later date at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton. The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 25, 2013 from 6 until 8:00 p.m. at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Russell Tyree, Rome Clegg, Chris Carlson, Matt West, Billy Whitmire, Ron Smith, Ken McClain and Michael Putman. Brandon Smith, Brayden West and Trent Putman will serve as honorary pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, Post Office Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675 or to the American Cancer Society, American Cancer Society, 1825 Barrett Lakes Boulevard, Suite 280, Kennesaw, GA 30144 in memory of Mr. Moriarty.
