Michael Staley

Michael Alan Staley, 18, of Alabama Highway, Rome, Georgia, passed away Tuesday afternoon, April 29, 2008 at the Floyd Medical Center.

Michael was born October 2, 1989 in Cherokee County, a son of Tammy Denise Mulkey and Dennis Earl Staley. At the time of his death he was employed by his aunt and uncle with the National Apartment Association as a Painter, and prior to that he worked at Church Chair.

Michael is survived by his son, Leland Staley of Rome; mother and step-father, Tammy Denise and Phillip Mulkey of Rome, his father and step-mother, Dennis and Jo Staley of Polk County, GA.; his biological father and step-mother, Gene and Sherri Able of Stockbridge, GA.; grandparents, Dennis and Erlene Staley of Ohio, Jerry Hardin of Rome, and Debra Dobbins of Chattanooga, TN.; brothers, CJ Mulkey and Phillip Mulkey both of Rome; sisters, Amberley Griffin of Dallas, GA., Kaileigh Painter of Acworth, GA., Kaylin and Sarah Able both of Stockbridge, GA.; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and special friends also survive.

Funeral Services for Michael Staley will be held on Friday, May 2, 2008 at 12:00 Noon in the Oaknoll Chapel of Jennings Funeral Home with Reverend Harold Pollard officiating. Interment will follow at the Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 1, 2008 at the Oaknoll Chapel of Jennings Funeral Home between the hours of 5:00 P.M. and 9:00 P.M.

Active pallbearers should meet at the funeral home on Friday by 11:30 A.M. and include Dennis Staley, Gene Able, Taylor Hardin, Jason Machtolff, Zack Harper, and his brother, CJ Mulkey. Michael's youngest brother, Phillip Mulkey will serve as an Honorary Escort.
