Michael Ward

Michael Ward, 49, of Cartersville died suddenly at his residence Sunday, September 6, 2009. Born December 5, 1959 in Rome, he was the son of Doris Irene Black Ward and the late �B.J.� Ward. Michael was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church and the Euharlee Masonic Lodge #457. He was a loving son, enjoyed taking care of his mother, and was an avid NASCAR and sports fan.



He was preceded in death by his father, B.J. Ward; his infant brother, Randall Jon Ward; his infant sister, Charlene Ward; his paternal grandparents, Carl Ward and Mary Collins Ward; his maternal grandparents, Rev. E.W. Black and Arlee Cantrell Black; and his uncle, Wayne Black.



Survivors include his mother, Doris Ward; his aunts and uncles, Dot Black, Kathryn and Ed Martin, and Buddy and Jackie Black; and a number of cousins.



Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Friday, September 11, 2009 at Zion Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Keith Dempsey, Rev. Alan Collins, and Rev. David Baker officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with full masonic graveside rites. Michael will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service.



Members of the Euharlee Masonic Lodge #457 will serve as pallbearers. These gentlemen are requested to meet at the church by 2:30 p.m. on Friday.



The family will receive friends from 5 - 8 p.m. Thursday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Michael Ward Memorial Fund at Wachovia Bank in Cartersville.
