Margaret Michelle Scoggins, age 37, of 117 Drexel Drive Rome, GA, died Saturday morning, September 18, 2004, following a lengthy illness.A native of Rome and Floyd County, Michelle was born on May 9, 1967, the daughter of Sylvia Harrelson Scoggins Rickman and the late William Scoggins, Jr. She had been a resident of Rome and Floyd County all her life and was a graduate of Model High School. Michelle was a member of the New Antioch Baptist Church and also had attended Beech Creek United Methodist Church. She loved reading her Bible and going to church and was always smiling. Michelle enjoyed needlework, traveling and being with friends and family.Michelle is survived by her mother and step-father, Sylvia and Robert Rickman of Rome; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Gene and Angie Scoggins of Rome, and Waymon Scoggins of Spartanburg, SC. Four nieces and one nephew also survive.Funeral services for Michelle will be held on Monday afternoon at 1 p.m. in the Heritage chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home with Rev. Max Tucker and Rev. Marvin Jackson officiating. Interment will follow in the East View Cemetery.Michelle will lie in-state at the Heritage Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home where the family will receive friends this (Sunday) evening from 5 until 8 p.m. At other hours they may be contacted at her residence.Pallbearers are asked to meet at the funeral home on Monday and include Eddie Williams, Gene Callan, Ricky Harrelson and Larry Scoggins.Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner's Children's Hospital, 400 East Ponce de Leon Avenue, Atlanta, GA, 30308.
