Minnie Elrod

Mrs. Minnie Lee Elrod, 84, of 277 Puckett Rd. SE, Emerson passed away on Thursday, November 22, 2007 at the Cartersville Medical Center. Born on April 30, 1923 in Cartersville, she was the daughter of the late Debe Bohannon and the late Velma Bearden Bohannon. Mrs. Elrod was a homemaker and a member of Oakland Heights Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Howard C. Elrod; her son, Elton Elrod; her daughter, Mary Magdeline Elrod; her grandsons, Anthony Freeman and Gene Elrod; her brother, Lonnie Bohannon; and her sister, Lillie Mae Bohannon.

Survivors include her children, Howard and Pam Elrod of Canton, Martha and Sammy Harp of Jefferson, Mark Elrod and Annette Freeman of Emerson, and Marilyn and Tony Bryant of Emerson; her sister-in-law, Sara Bohannon; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at Oakland Heights Baptist Church with Rev. Joe McKaig, Rev. Joe Nix and Rev. David Bennett officiating. Burial will follow in the Center Baptist Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Tony Tidwell, Clyde Brock, Bill Hunt, Larry Bledsoe, Jerry Garland, Ronnie Nix, and Bill Shook. These gentlemen are requested to be at the funeral home by 1:15 p.m. on Saturday.

The family will receive friends from 7 – 9 p.m. on Friday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
