Monica "Monk" Wood, age 52 of Adairsville, Georgia, sadly passed away at her home on Saturday, January 6, 2024.
Monica was born on March 15, 1971, in Cartersville, Georgia,
She is preceded in death by her parents C.W. Wood and Betty Jo Wood.
Survivors include her siblings Anthony Wood (Jennifer), Becky Wood, Cynthia Shook (James), Malissa Melton (Bill), Randall Wood (Hayleigh), and Chris Wood; a special great-niece Angel Heffner; special great-nephews Ryder Jackson, Carson Melton, and Jaxen Heffner; her former spouse and love of her life, James Ramsey; and several other nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.
Monica had an amazing heart. She loved everyone without question or judgement. She was incredibly sweet, strong, and tough, as she endured a lot of difficulty throughout her life. Despite her hardships though, she always deeply loved the Lord and was very proud of her faith. She loved to cook, loved babies, cherished her family, and was like a mother to all her nieces and nephews. She will be sorely missed.
A funeral service will be held for Monica at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, in the Parnick Jennings Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens in Cartersville, Georgia. Monica's family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, January 15, 2024, at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Albert Ramirez, Jonathan Ramirez, Cody Melton, Zachary Huey, Adam Bagley, Bryan Wood, Trenton Wood, and Trevor Wood. Honorary pallbearers will be Nicholas Wood, Cole Ramirez, Bryson Ramirez, Caden Ramirez, and Trey Wood.
