Rev. Arnold Lovic Mount, age 79, of 1 Westlyn Place, Rome, Ga passed away Monday evening, June 19, 2006 at his residence.Rev. Mount was born April 3, 1927 in Chattanooga, TN to Paul Hill Mount and Lillian Pearl Lipham Mount. During World War II at the age of 17, he joined the United States Navy and served in the Seabees. At the end of the war he graduated from Coyne Electrical School in Chicago and later felt his calling to the ministry. Rev. Mount was ordained at Sardis Baptist Church in Chattooga County in 1951. He graduated from Tennessee Temple University in Chattanooga with a Bachelor of Bible degree. He also attended Southern Seminary, Louisville, KY, the University of Georgia, University of West Virginia and Toccoa Bible Institute in Toccoa. He served several churches in Georgia, including Everett Springs, Pleasant Valley North, Shorter Avenue, Fort Oglethorpe, Martin Baptist, in Toccoa, Little Sand Mountain and New Hope South in Chattooga County and in Alabama, Fairhaven and Leesburg. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Alfred and Herman Mount and a sister, Kathryn Mount Butler.He is survived by his wife, Hilda Everett Mount, to whom he was married on December 19, 1953. Also surviving are his children; son, Sam Mount and his wife, Kaye; daughters, Patti Vincent and Medina Jarman and her husband, Bob; a sister, Lillian Fleming of Middletown, CA and a sister in-law, Lacy Mount of Cary, NC; his granddaughters, Melissa, Rebekah, Natalie and Lydia Mount, Alton Jarman and Katherine Vincent; his grandsons, Aaron, Caleb and Joel Mount.The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at the Oaknoll Chapel of Jennings Funeral Home. At other hours the family may be contacted at the residence, 1 Westlyn Place, Rome, GA.Funeral services for Rev. Mount will be held on Saturday at 11:00 am at Oaknoll Chapel with Rev. Phillip May in charge of the service and Rev. Ken Hinkley in charge of the committal service, which will take place at the chapel. The eulogy will be given by his grandchildren and a niece, Jennifer Yagu.Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Heyman Hospice, P.O.Box 163, Rome, GA 30162.Pallbearers will be pastors and deacons, both active and retired, from the churches that Rev. Mount served.The Oaknoll Chapel of Jennings Funeral Home has charge of the services for Rev. Arnold Mount.
