Myrtle Smalling
July 12, 1918 — August 6, 2012
In the early morning of Monday, August 6th, while the dew was still on the roses, Myrtle (Mamaw) Smalling, age 94, died peacefully at home with family close by. She was born July 12, 1918, the daughter of the late M.E. Sullivan and the late Mary Elizabeth Johnson.
Mamaw was a practical, simple woman and she hated to see wasted resources. To honor her character the family has asked that in lieu of flowers a donation be made in her name to Must Ministries, 1407 Cobb Parkway North, Marietta, Georgia.
She is survived by her husband, Clarence Smalling of Kennesaw; her son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Karen Smalling of Kennesaw; her daughter and son-in-law, Suzanne Smalling Edler and husband, Bob of Chicago; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services for Mamaw will be held at 2:00 p.m., at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home, 430 Cassville Road in Cartersville, Georgia on Saturday, August 11, 2012. Gathering and viewing will be held one hour prior to the service. The family will receive visitors at her home in Kennesaw afterwards.
