Nancy Olive Joyce was born in Rome, Georgia, and had two older brothers (Charles and Bobby), a younger sister (Shirley) and twin younger brothers (Jimmy and Jerry). Nancy attended Rome High School, graduating in 1951 while also working at Wiseman's Bakery. Shortly after, Nancy met and fell in love with Henry L. Freeman Jr., from Shannon, Georgia, and the two were married on December 18, 1953. Henry was in the Air Force and they started married life in Texas, where they had Ken in 1955, and then on to Japan where Kathy was born in 1958. After Japan they were stationed in Cocoa Beach, Florida, then Savannah, Georgia, before being transfered to McGuire AFB in New Jersey. Within a year of moving to NJ, Henry was ordered to serve in Vietnam and Nancy moved back to Rome to be near family. Not to long after Henry returned from Vietnam, he and Nancy learned they were to be parents again and Robert was born in 1971. Henry retired from the Air Force in 1980 and the family moved back to Georgia and settled in Marietta. Nancy and Henry were faithful members of Eastside Baptist Church in Marietta for over 30 years and made many friends during their time there. Nancy would say those were the best years of their lives and always loved to talk about the fun they had, the trips they took, and the friends they made. Over the past 25 years she and Henry would travel with their friends and church family. Their travels would take them to Israel, Egypt, Greece, and Switzerland, as well as numerous trips within the US. Some of her favorite travels were to Kenya to help the Kenyan children in schools and orphanages there. For the past few years Nancy has lived at the Fountains in Cartersville. Despite being affected by the onset of Alzheimer's, Nancy again formed friendships with residents and staff and was loved for her shining spirit. While the later years brought a decline in Nancy's health and mental state, she was very proud of the life she had led, the family she raised, and the friendships she made.

All during her life Nancy was a believer in Jesus Christ and lived with Godly principles. She and Henry epitomized a Godly marriage, having been married just short of 66 years upon his death in late 2019. We rejoice at their reunion in Heaven, and while we here left behind miss them, we also know we will be with them again in eternity.

As for Nancy, it was a life well led by a good and faithful servant.
