Nancy Warren

Mrs. Nancy Kay Simpson Warren, age 48, of 3315 Silver Hill Road, Summerville, GA, died Tuesday, May 27, 2008, in a local hospital.

Mrs. Warren was born in Floyd County, GA, on January 19, 1960, the daughter of Eugene M. Simpson and the late Carrie Ann Atkins Simpson. She was a member of Armuchee Baptist Church and the Summerville Optimist Club. Mrs. Warren worked for Kroger for twenty-one years and then worked for Floyd Medical Center in Chattooga County. She enjoyed cross stitching and loved being around people. Mrs. Warren started a cancer support group in Summerville and always participated in Relay for Life. She volunteered as a mentor at Victory Junction Gang which is for kids battling with cancer.

In addition to Mrs. Warren's father she is survived by her husband, Michael Warren of Summerville, to whom she was married on July 12, 1985; a son, Wesley Warren of Summerville; a daughter, Kristin Warren of Summerville; and three brothers and sisters-in-law, Quinn and Debbie Simpson, Larry and Carol Simpson, and Victor Simpson all of Summerville. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 29, 2008, at 8:00 P.M. in the Heritage Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home with Rev. Glen Clonts officiating. Graveside and interment services will be held on Friday at 10:00 A.M. in the Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Warren will remain in the Heritage Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. until the funeral hour.

The following gentlemen have been asked to serve as active pallbearers and are requested to meet in the Heritage Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home on Thursday by 7:30 P.M. and Friday at 9:45 A.M. in the Oaknoll Memorial Gardens: Glenn Warren, Kenny Warren, Chris Warren, David Yarbrough, Derek Yarbrough, Tim Pence, James Hinkley, and Chuck Evans. The honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Parris, Johnny Koehler, and the Chattooga Cancer Support Group.
