Nancy Whitener

Mrs. Nancy Gail Whitener, 55, of Cartersville, died Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at her residence.

Born March 11, 1957 in Cartersville, she was a daughter of Herman Lee Evans and the late Rachel Christine Long Evans. Mrs. Whitener was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, and she loved to collect angels and dolls. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by a son, Michael Shane Whitener.

In addition to her father, survivors include her husband, Kenneth Whitener; daughter, Tonya Smith and her husband Billy of Cartersville; brothers, Jimmy Evans and his wife Annetta of Gordon County, Darrell Evans and his wife Donna of Cartersville, and Danny Evans, also of Cartersville; sister, Heather Diaz and her husband Noel of Cartersville; grandchildren, Billy Smith and Nick Smith; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, February 8, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home with The Reverend Wesley Morris officiating. Interment will follow in Cassville Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
