Nathan Scott Nichols, �Baby Nate Nate� age 10 months, of Barker Road Rome, GA, died Wednesday, October 15, 2008, at local Hospital.
Baby Nichols was born in Floyd County, GA, on December 2, 2007, the son of Emily Lauren Martens and Gregory Scott Nichols. Nathan was very photogenic, loved to laugh,playing peek-a-boo, enjoyed bath time, cuddling, and watch Nascar. Nathan loved his daddy and mom and his family.
In addition to his parents Nathan is survived by his grandparents, Ronnie and Jan Smith of Rome, John and Dawn Martens of Stockbridge, GA, and Greg and Vickie Nichols of Rome; maternal grandparents, Barbara Martens, Charles Baker, Ann Massey, and Evelyn Itson all of Rome; aunts and uncles, Ashley and Brandon Whittier, John Rule Martens, Jr., Thomas and Wendy Reid, Jamie and Lori Wiggins, John and Kristina Wiggins, and Joe and Jonna Duke. Several cousins also survive.
Funeral services will be held Friday, October 17, 2008, at 2:00 P.M. in the Oaknoll Chapel of the McGuire, Jennings, & Miller Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Dowdy and Rev. Greg Hunter officiating. Interment will follow in the Rome Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 7:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M in the Oaknoll Chapel of the McGuire, Jennings, & Miller Funeral Home.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Children�s Healthcare of Atlanta Foundation, 1687 Tullie Circle NE, Atlanta, GA 30329 or CaringBridge, 1995 Rahn Cliff Court, Suite 200, Eagan, MN 55122.
The following gentlemen have been asked to serve as pallbearers and are requested to meet in the Oaknoll Chapel of the McGuire, Jennings, and Miller Funeral Home by 1:30 P.M.: Joel Martens, Rule Martens, John Wiggins, and Jamie Wiggins.
