Nell Collum

Mrs. Nell Collum, age 82, of Rome, GA, died Sunday, November 2, 2008.



Mrs. Collum was born in Floyd County, GA, on July 24, 1926, the daughter of the late Daniel Snyder and Jewel Oswalt Snyder. She was a member of Fifth Avenue Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Collum was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Collum and a sister, Margie Mahan.



Survivors include her son Jack E. Collum; a daughter, Mary Young; four grandchildren, Marty Sheehan, Megan Sofge, Johnny Young, and Jason Collum; three great-grandchildren; three brothers, Jack Synder, Norman Snyder, and Barry Snyder; and two sisters, Gay Payne and Edna Burns. Several nieces and nephews also survive.



Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 5, 2008, at 2:00 P.M. in the Fifth Avenue Baptist Church with Rev. Odis Green officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunset Hills Memorial Gardens.



The family will receive friends Wednesday from noon until the funeral hour in the Fifth Avenue Baptist Church.



The following gentlemen have been asked to serve as pallbearers and are requested to meet in the Fifth Avenue Baptist Church by 1:30 P.M. on Wednesday: John Young, Johnny Young, Jason Collum, Rick Sofge, Kevin Snyder, and Danny Snyder.
