Mrs. Nell Dawson Lupo age 80, of Rome, GA died Saturday, May 8, 2010, in a local hospital.



Mrs. Lupo was born in Leighton, AL on February 26, 1930, the daughter of the late John Dawson and Emma Yarbrough Dawson. She graduated form Decatur High School in Decatur, AL and attended Tennessee Temple University in Chattanooga, TN. Mrs. Lupo was a member of West Rome Baptist Church and Ruth Sunday School Class. She worked in the West Rome Baptist Church Nursery and many people at church called her �Po.� Mrs. Lupo worked for many years at Kessler�s and Belk. Also, she worked at Mercy Senior Care. She was a loving mother and grandmother. In addition to her parents Mrs. Lupo was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph �Joe� Lupo in 1962; two brothers, John Robert Dawson and Theron Dawson; and a sister, Martha Dawson.



Survivors include a son, Mike Lupo of Rome; a daughter, Beverly Summerlin of Rome; and a granddaughter, Dannielle Summerlin of Rome; and a sister, Ouida Dawson Marks of Decatur, AL. Several nieces and nephews also survive.



A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. in the Oaknoll Chapel of the McGuire, Jennings, & Miller Funeral Home with Rev. Jarrod Roberts and Rev. Ken Oates officiating. Interment will be held on Tuesday at 4:00 CST in Lawler Family Cemetery in Maysville, AL.



The family will receive friends Tuesday from 11:00 A.M. until the funeral hour in the Oaknoll Chapel.
