Mrs. Nellie Ruth Murphy, 87, of White, died Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at her residence.
Born July 28, 1925 in Knoxville, TN, she was a daughter of the late Earl E. Arp and the late Elsie Powell Arp. Mrs. Murphy was a member of Dry Valley Baptist Church in Summerville, GA. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Searcy; and a son, Gary Murphy.
Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Hoyt Murphy of the home; grandchildren, Kim Saye of Woodstock, Tammy Boyd of Acworth, Chandler Searcy of McDonough, Krista Maddox of McDonough, and Courtney Clifton of Rome; 12 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandson.
Graveside Funeral Services will be held on Monday, October 1, 2012 at 2:30 p.m. in the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton. The family will receive friends on Monday from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home.
The family suggests that those who wish may make donations to Alzheimer's Association, Georgia Chapter, 41 Perimeter Center East, Suite 550, Atlanta, Georgia 30346 in memory of Mrs. Murphy.
