Norma Jean Kay, 61, of Cartersville died Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at the Cartersville Medical Center. A native of Bartow County, she was born August 5, 1947 and was the daughter of Gracie Clay Teague and the late Floyd Charles Teague.
Norma was a member of Peeples Valley Baptist Church and had been employed over the years with Goodyear, EZ Mills, Cartersville Medical Center, and Wal Mart. She enjoyed spending time with her friends, going out to eat, shopping, and going to the movies. She also loved spending time with her grandkids. Norma was a history buff and was especially interested in Civil War and Bartow County history.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, James and Kathy Kay of Cartersville; her daughter and son-in-law, Sherri and Peter Grant of Canton; her granddaughter, Alexis Kay; her grandson, Andrew Grant; her mother, Gracie Teague of Cartersville; her aunt and uncles, Jimmy and Estelene Clay of Winter Haven, Florida, E.G. Clay and Emma Jean Clay of Louisville, Kentucky, and Nan Brideau of Cartersville; and several special cousins, Carol Bender and Doris Philpot.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 28, 2009 in Oak Hill Cemetery with Rev. Darrell Bailey officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6 � 9 p.m. Friday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Rd., Cartersville, GA 30120.
