Oliver Bray

Mr. Oliver A. Bray, age 76, of Rome, GA, died Saturday, June 19, 2004 at a local hospital following an extended illness.Mr. Bray was born in Floyd County September 22, 1927, son of the late Arthur Theodore and Willie Bryant Bray and had spent his entire life here. He was a retired construction worker and a veteran of WW II having served with the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister, A. T. Bray, Jr., James William Bray and Bertha Slaughter.Survivors include a son, William Bray, a step son, Jeff Pope, both of Rome, six grandchildren, Jennifer Pearson, Douglas, Donald, and William Bray, Jr., Lindsey and Houston Pope all of Romeeight great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive.Funeral services for Mr. Oliver A. Bray will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, June 22, 2004, in the Heritage Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home with Parnick Jennings, Sr. officiating.
