Mrs. Ollie Mae Gossett, age 96 of 4364 Old Black Bluff Road, Rome died Friday morning at the residence of her daughter.

Mrs. Gossett was born October 15, 1910 in Floyd County, Ga. daughter of the late William L. Garrison and Julie Middleton Garrison. She had spent her entire life in Rome and Floyd County until about 5 years ago. Mrs. Gossett was a member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church, the Women's Bible Class and was one of the oldest members of the church. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Mrs. Gossett was a homemaker who loved taking care of her family and was a great cook. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Donald L. Gossett; a son Hubert Lee Gossett; a grandchild Patrick Lehman Lewis; a baby brother; and brothers, Connor Garrison and Thomas Garrison and by sisters, Annie Dell Molock and Ida Clemmons.

Survivors include a son Randall Gossett and his wife Teresa of Rome; a daughter Rebecca and her husband J.T. Lewis of Cedartown; grandchildren Michael Gossett and Jason Gossett both of Rome, Pam and Chuck Graves of Cedartown, great grandchildren Emily Graves and Kelsei Graves of Cedartown.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 15, 2007 at 3 p.m. in the Heritage Chapel of Jennings Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Rhodes officiating. Interment will follow in the Howell Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. at the Jennings Funeral Home. At other hours the family will receive in the home of Rebecca and J.T. Lewis.

Pallbearers are asked to meet Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at the Jennings Funeral Home and include the following gentlemen: Chuck Graves, David Brock, Holbert Garrison, James Wright, David Yarbrough and Bobby Poulin.
